Liberal Democrat Aberdeen South Westminster candidate John Sleigh is blaming the pitiful grant Aberdeen City Council receives for poor performance in the latest Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation report.

John Sleigh said: "I am deeply saddened by these new figures. It is a disgrace that poverty is on the increase in Aberdeen. The blame lies squarely with the government. They put the council in an impossible position. Aberdeen receives the lowest amount of money in the country. How long until the SNP government wakes up and gives Aberdeen a fair deal? How bad does Aberdeen have to get? I fear it will only get worse with the UK Labour government threatening to slash the money Scotland receives."
