This means assuming a council tax freeze, Aberdeen will receive £1,740 per head next financial year, compared to the Scottish average of £2,063.

John Sleigh said: "I am deeply saddened by these new figures. It is a disgrace that poverty is on the increase in Aberdeen. The blame lies squarely with the government. They put the council in an impossible position. Aberdeen receives the lowest amount of money in the country. How long until the SNP government wakes up and gives Aberdeen a fair deal? How bad does Aberdeen have to get? I fear it will only get worse with the UK Labour government threatening to slash the money Scotland receives."
