A Fair Deal for Aberdeen

Vine and John

Candidate John Sleigh and Vince Cable, Shadow Chancellor

Are you sick of seeing Aberdeen left out in the cold?

So is John Sleigh as your local Lib Dem Westminster candidate, this is why he is campaigning to see Aberdeen get more from the Government. Aberdeen gives so much to Scotland and the rest of the UK and yet sees little in return. Do you know that Aberdeen City Council is ranked second bottom out of 32 Scottish local authorities on a per capita funding basis? This means assuming a council tax freeze, Aberdeen will receive £1,740 per head next financial year, compared to the Scottish average of £2,063.

Well enough is enough; John Sleigh is creating a united voice in the Fair Deal for Aberdeen campaign which will sees more funding come from both Westminster and Holyrood. Ensuring Aberdeen gets the fair share of national resources that it deserves. Support John in his campaign for a fair deal in Aberdeen! Liberal Democrat Aberdeen South Westminster candidate John Sleigh is blaming the pitiful grant Aberdeen City Council receives for poor performance in the latest Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation report.

John Sleigh said: "I am deeply saddened by these new figures. It is a disgrace that poverty is on the increase in Aberdeen. The blame lies squarely with the government. They put the council in an impossible position. Aberdeen receives the lowest amount of money in the country. How long until the SNP government wakes up and gives Aberdeen a fair deal? How bad does Aberdeen have to get? I fear it will only get worse with the UK Labour government threatening to slash the money Scotland receives."
